We started The Rites because Berlin had everything except the cacao we wanted to drink in the morning. Direct trade, named farms, no incense.
What we do
We import cacao from three farming families across the Andean cacao belt — Peru, Ecuador, Colombia. We pay above fair-trade. We roast slowly in small batches in Wedding. We pack in matte kraft and ship in plain boxes.
We work with Berlin's specialty coffee bars, hotel breakfast programs, and a handful of yoga studios that prefer cacao to coffee. We don't host ceremonies. We don't sell altars.
